Frequently Asked Questions

How do I grant clipboard access on macOS?

When you first launch SnipSnapp, macOS will ask for permission to monitor your clipboard. Click Allow in the system dialog. If you accidentally denied it, go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility and enable SnipSnapp.

What are on-device AI transforms?

On-device AI uses Apple's built-in Foundation Models (macOS 26+, Apple Silicon) to transform your clipboard content — summarize, translate, rewrite, fix grammar, and more — entirely on your Mac. Your data never leaves your device. This feature is free and unlimited.

How does cloud AI work with my own API keys?

With Pro, you can add your own API keys for Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI, Google Gemini, xAI (Grok), or OpenRouter. Your keys are stored securely in the macOS Keychain. You pay the AI providers directly at their rates — SnipSnapp never charges extra. Go to Settings > AI Providers to configure.

How do I sync clipboard history across devices?

With Pro, enable iCloud Sync in Settings. Your clipboard history will sync across all your Apple devices signed into the same iCloud account. You can optionally add password encryption for an extra layer of security.

How do I restore my Pro purchase on a new device?

Go to Settings > Upgrade > Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID you used for the original purchase. Pro is a lifetime one-time purchase that works on all your devices.

Is my clipboard data private?

Yes. All clipboard data is stored locally on your device by default. On-device AI never sends data off your Mac. Cloud AI only sends the specific text you choose to transform, and only to the provider you select. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.

How do I delete my clipboard history?

You can delete individual items by swiping left on them, or clear all history from Settings > Clear History. If iCloud Sync is enabled, deletions will sync across your devices.
