SnipSnapp ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our clipboard management application.
Information We Collect
Clipboard Content
SnipSnapp monitors your clipboard to save clipboard history. This includes text content, images, file references, and code snippets.
All clipboard content is stored locally on your device by default. We do not have access to your clipboard content unless you explicitly enable cloud features.
Usage Analytics (Optional)
When you opt in to usage analytics, we collect anonymous statistics to improve the app:
- Copy frequency and content types
- Transform usage patterns
- Source application names (not content)
- Hourly usage patterns
Analytics data is stored locally and never includes clipboard content or personally identifiable information.
Account Information
If you purchase Pro, Apple processes your payment through the App Store. We receive only a transaction ID to verify your purchase status.
Cloud AI Processing
When you use cloud AI transforms, your selected text is sent to third-party AI providers:

Important: Cloud AI requires your explicit consent. You choose which provider receives your data. On-device AI keeps all processing local (macOS 26+, Apple Silicon).
iCloud Sync
When you enable iCloud sync:
- Clipboard items are stored in your iCloud account using CloudKit
- Apple encrypts data at rest and in transit
- We do not have access to your synced data
- You may optionally add password encryption (AES-GCM with PBKDF2-SHA256) for an additional security layer
- Your password never leaves your device
Data Retention
- Clipboard History: Stored locally until you delete it or reach your configured limit
- Analytics: Rolling 90-day window
- Synced Data: Retained in iCloud until you delete it or disable sync
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access all clipboard history within the app
- Delete individual items or all history
- Export data in JSON, CSV, or Markdown formats
- Opt-out of analytics in Settings
- Withdraw consent for cloud AI at any time
Data Security
- API keys stored in macOS Keychain with secure enclave protection
- Optional AES-GCM encryption for synced data
- Local clipboard storage in app sandbox
- No server-side storage of clipboard content
Children's Privacy
SnipSnapp is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
